Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination of both hard and soft structures of the mouth, a brief evaluation for possible problems in the jaw joint, a visual examination for any unusal lesions or areas inside and around the mouth, charting of existing dentistry and areas of concern, periodontal probing. Where indicated, we take study models and both intraoral and extraoral photographs. We will also take digital x-rays, for proper diagnosis of the teeth and the supporting bone that we can not see clinically. We include a digital bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay between back teeth. We may reschedule you for a treatment conference with Dr. Duren and our insurance coordinator to discus your diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
